Keyword Difficulty Tool

My wife is an optician (optometrist) and she has a special interest in the treatment of reading disorders associated with dyslexia with coloured tinted lenses.

Recently she asked me to consider optimising her website for keywords associated with reading difficulties.

Her website is www.migraine-dyslexia.com and it currently has a HomePage PageRank of 2.

This keyword was initially researched with the Google Keyword Tool  (Figure 238).

Google Keywords Suggestion Tool

The tool showed that there were 9,900 searches last month (April 2011) globally and 880 searches locally (UK). From the Google database the tool provided 337 ‘ideas’. I ticked the most appropriate 18 in the check boxes (Figure 240) and downloaded these into Excel (Figure 239).

Keyword SEO Pro Guidelines

From the guideline, it is apparent that this website cannot achieve top place positioning for these keywords even with the HomePage.

The only keyword easily in range from this list for our website is ‘dyslexia test’. This keyword is in the Green Zone with an average Keyword Difficulty of 4.8. It would be in range for internal pages as well as the HomePage.

Several of the keywords are in the blue range and our website could only compete with its HomePage. Many of the keywords are in the pink zone and out of range for our website.
